Debating between upgrading to iPhone 4s or sticking with evo 4g
Forums › General Discussion › Debating between upgrading to iPhone 4s or sticking with evo 4g-
For starters, I have sprint. I heard the iPhone 4s doesn't have 4g. But then the evo 4g battery life is terrible. Anybody have any suggestions or recommendations what to do?

That's what I do. I got the Thunderbolt for work, and mobile wifi, and the iPhone as a paperweight/backup when the thunderbolt battery dies.Get both and switch every other day

Davido, I recommend the Galaxy S2 Epic Touch 4g. It has decent battery life(much better than the EVO), has all the features the iPhone 4s has, it's thinner and wieghts less, it's has a beautiful Display that rivals the iPhones(which is better is debatable), it has it's own type of SIRI(that's just as good), and it's very very fast. 1.2ghz.

Plus you get the touchwiz 4.0. It's similar to ios in some ways and has all the costomizations of android. It's very stable and won't lag at all or as much as your evo. Depending how you use it.

I love my iPhone 4S. Just my 2 cents.

Battery life? Although it has no 4g, I heard the processor it uses makes it just as fast as 4g, is that true.I love my iPhone 4S. Just my 2 cents.

No, and technically there is no such thing as 4g LTE and WiMAX are the faster networks. The IPhone isn't able to use them. It's processor is one of the best right now. But you won't get "4G" speeds. Just fast "3G". Like I said the Epic touch 4g isthe best look into it.!Rogue wrote:

Btw your on sprint like me we use WiMAX.
-
And a processor isnt the only factor on how fast a phone works. If I had the iPhone on Verizon it might be faster than some phones on 4g with sprint. Verizon's network speeds are THE fastest. Verizon uses LTE which is the fastest network. WiMAX is slow in comparison. So it would be better IMO to go with a 4g phone cause sprints network speeds are okay in most areas. And great in a few.

Verizon has one of the most truthful commercials out there. The thunderbolt's battery life is crap when connected to 4g LTE, but it actually is "blazing fast". I can download a 10mb app in like two seconds, and have it installed in four. Just always keep it plugged in.

I'm in LA County.
AT&T reception is non existent.
Verizon is hit or miss.
Sprint is not fast but reliable.

It's a legit question. I have a buildup at work who has a Evo 4g and the phone is awesome. If you could run turf wars on it, well...on the other hand, the new iPhone is the best ever iPhone. Some people use their phones for work, and switching may not work for them. I love the iPhone, so yes I'm carrying two phones (blackberry for work). I'm sorry this may have not helped, but stick with what works for you.

I think im just gonna get the iPhone.

I picked up the 4s tonight. I'll sleep on it, but I think I'm going to return it tomorrow. For that matter, I'm so disgusted with apple, that I may go android for my next phone. There isn't anything wrong with the phone, but there is much wrong with the company. From a shareholder standpoint, I think they're brilliant, and I love them. As a user, I am extremely disappointed in the implementation oh iCloud and Siri. ICloud could very simply be made better if it had more granular controls, specifically on the photo stream and restores. You cannot restore specific data, you need to completely reset your device to restore anything at all. Siri, good or bad, was blocked when the 4s launched. I had it installed on my iPhone 4, and it doesn't work now because apple wants to sell the 4s. I find that to be abhorent behavior and I wouldn't tolerate it from a local merchant. I am, however, forced to tolerate it from apple because I have purchased one of their devices. It's the reason for these decisions that gets under my skin, not the details.

More details though. The photo stream...it's either on, or off. My daughter shares my apple I'd on her Mac. So she will be able to see any picture or SS that I take. Sure, I can turn it off, but I want the photos on my iPads. It's a great idea, it's a piss poor implementation.

I love my iPhone 4 but don't think I will be upgrading to the 4s, I'm disappointed with the 4s if I'm honest! I will defo be trying another phone come upgrade in march' besides I have my ipad2 for tufting on

I hear you m. But all I can say for any developer or tech company for that matter. Updates are the name of the game. Nothing's perfect. I bitched about my apple tv not being able to play games via my iPhone but low and behold. Update and of course coincidentally a new 4S (which for the record I don't deem a necessity if you already own a 4. Think of it as a upgrade I between upgrades. Most of the people in line with me had 3GS's and other phones. They were simply upgrading. Most carriers operate on a 2 year basis. So every alternating year a "S" model phone should respectively be released.More details though. The photo stream...it's either on, or off. My daughter shares my apple I'd on her Mac. Cont. I also must comment hahaha because I had downloaded Siri just before the release and had yet to try it. Just after and before I got mine I went to try it to demo it and lol. I didn't work. I sort of guessed why but I wasent supposed when I searched for the app and no longer found it on the app store. Guess I missed the boat. Lol. Anyways. Back to apple. And anything related. I honestly ask tho would you be happier with android? I trulely believe apple isn't for everyone. One of my co workers is diehard apple computers for life but runs and loves his android phone the same. Apple personally works for me. I patiently wait for them and dream of the possibilities.
