I played d&d, warhammer, and have partaken in fantasy football with past co workers. I simply live my life disregarding the various penny galleries and persuasion attempts of others until I've tried the subjects myself. As long as the subjects seem reasonable to me of course. I don't think cooking meth and doing whisky enemas are subjects worth not missing out on.Things have so far worked out. Feels good man.

This was actually a conversation my wife and I had last night. She was explanning how shed get together with friends each week and played d&d for 3-6 hours. She then proceeded to tell me how the game worked. I smiled and realized why that game has such a nerdy reputation. And of course, I've played fantasy football for 11 years now.

All that said, I used to regularly play risk and Axis and Allies with friends and we played computer games Age of Empires and Diablo2 multiple times a week. And my friend still comes over once a week and we play baseball on the playstation.

Fantasy footbal is a much wider group of people. It's a combination of what I call stat geeks (prob overlaps with d&d crowd) and former football players / true fanatics. Many people who play fantasy football wouldn't be caught dead playing d&d, and vice versa I would guess

I play neither, but thought that going by the names of the two that nerd and jock could come together as one. It seems to be the case with turf warrior and batel. Actually I heard it in joke form months ago and thought it was funny, but I can't remember how it went. :(
