No it's ddr3. My motherboard doesn't even support ddr2 as the pins wouldn't fit.@ iggy. Yeah exactly that. I assume at that price it's a DDR2. Get some good ram it makes the world of difference. Something I didn't skimp on when I built my kit + win7 has fantastic memory management so good fast ram helps.

Though I get what your saying. But again I don't think my motherboard supports a higher frequency and I haven't really gotten around to researching buffered ram.Darth Vadan™ wrote:

ggy. Buffered ram isn't ideal or recommended for PC memory. It's more suited as server memory as it has a controller chip to manage large quantities of ganged memory together. Stick with unbuffered/unganged to benefit from the speed of dual channel. And remember to always install memory in matching sets in the right slots otherwise it'll run single channel. My ram was £70, 4gbddr3, 1600 mhz, 2000 on oc n I've got twin fans on it although i'm not sure it makes a difference as my pc is ice cool inside. My integrated graphics card reserves 500mb and I'm looking to get a dedicated card and run it alongside on xfire
