Texas:
1. State pride is well known
2. Every type of landscape
3. 3 of the 10 largest cities in the U.S.
4. We are the only state that CAN branch away, and fly our flag same level as the U.S. Flag5. we've got a coast which most states don't.
6. Austin, Tx is the live music capital of the world
7. We have our very own style of music (Screw)wrong on number 4. That was taken away when Texas was readmited during the reconstruction.
you are wrong on two pints concerning #4. Bit font worry...I'll give you a chance to bust me out.

www.constitution.legis.state.tx.us
1. The Texas constitution contains no provisions for secession.
2. The US Constitution contains no provisions disallowing a state to secede, therefore rendering you wrong in stating Texas is the "only one".
-
Now, as to my original statement on this thread, I misspoke.
When Texas was first admitted to the Union, there was a provision in it's constitution allowing it to divide into 5 smaller states. When Texas was begging and pleading for readmission to the Union after the Civil War, this provision is what was removed.
-
Just to reitterate: there is not now, nor has there ever been, a provision for secession in the Texas Constitution.
As to why they voted on it...they're texans. What more needs to be said?
-
And since 2008, at least 13 states, including Alaska, Hawaii and Oklahoma have had votes to secede.
You may also find the Texas annexation treaties of interest. You will find nno rovisions for secession in there either.

yeah...that's another one he got wrong.
Flags of the States, flags of other Nations can all be flown at the same height as the US flag. Flag Dictates only the US flag be on the right

Please don't make this a thread about Texas. Texas isn't worth it. So sucede already if you're so badass. Only things bigger in Texas are egos

When I think of Oklahoma I think of Consistantly overrated college football teams and Timothy McVeigh. Sorry Oklahoma

ur a fkn moron. Tx voted last year if they wanted to branch off. It is possible it just has to pass the legislation. Here ill pm u a phone nbr u can call and check for yourself
-
Texas Voluntarily joined the union and did not come with an explicit agreement that they could never leave. Also, Texas is a free and independant State, subject only to the Constitution of the United States. Not to the president or even the congress of the US.
There is no law forbidding or allowing secession, unlike the other states so stfu. This is taken directly from the Texas Constitution ty very much. Dont try to tell me about my own state u fkn moron
-
Do you understand the principles of sovereignty and a democratic republic?
Each and every one of the 50 states is free and independent, subject only to the Constitution of the United States.
Why the need for name calling and swearing? Most studies tend to indicate that's a sign of lower intelligence.

I'm not saying it isn't possible. I'm just correcting you erroneous information that texas is the only state that can do so. Texas has no privileges above any of the other 49 states. And no other state has privelehes that texas does not. 50 States, all equal. So long as they are a part of the Union, they are all bound by the US Constitution.

Any state should be free of repercussions if they secede. But I think you know as well as I do that will not be the case.

I like the Maryland blues but it's kinda a lot of work for not that much meat. I would prefer a nice dungeoness or any cold watered pacific crab. but I'm gonna be right off the chesapeake next month. what's up with all the "crab pretzels" on the menus there! -
