everyone thinks they have horrible teachers. Think how hard it is for them now. U can spit your chewing gum at them and they can't even raise there voice without having th kids parents there the next day.I am 14, I always give someone my respect unryl I can see who they really are. If a teache is bad at teaching and bitches and moans then i don't give the slightest bit of respectto them in class.

I am 13 years old. I admit, I am a bit disrespectful. But you are a complete liar if you say you were a perfect, respectful teenager. I am respectful to those that deserve it though. I hold doors for people, even if it will take them a while to get to it. I help the adults in my building with their groceries, and if they pull out cash I tell them to put it away. I am sick of adults saying us teens are terribly disrespectful. If an adult is disrespectful towards me, they can expect the same in return. ✌.

I have to say that te disrespect comes mostly from the way the parents treat the kids while growing up. My little bro in-law is a perfect example of a disrespectful teen. Example #1)when confronted about something he yells at me about MY lack of respect.
#2)Stole a sub and amps out of my friends bronco to put it in his own car. Lied about it and when he was caught, gave me attitude. He said "what are you going to do, call the cops?"Yes I did call the cops because his parents wouldn't have punished him in any way. They would have yelled at him for about 5min and expected that fix the issue. Most of the disrespectful kids just don't think there are consequences for their actions.

Now the little sh1t head has 2 felonies on his record. He, and his friends know there are consequence around here.

How old are you? I'm 36 & it was my mom's generation who were the hippies, listening to Hendrix, etc.I won't say we are disrespectful as a group.
But society has brought us into the "we can do what we want" culture.
I believe, as we force kids to learn and grow more and more, more disrespect will happen.
I mean, honestly. I now have knowledge of more advanced math than both my parents. I've surpassed them in everything but English(mom was an English major).
Another observation, being a teen, is that people forget heavily how they were at 16 years old.
This generation of parents come out of a group of rebellious social gamechangers. Look at the hippies.
They say we're disrespectful. However, we're not listening to Hendrix and smoking a blunt.
So there is trade-offs. -

@KM, he didn't say no one ever does this now. He was talking about the generation though.

As Emperor K is a teen, his mother was more likely the generation bopping around to the Spice Girls and popping extasy (sp?) than Hendrix and The Monkeys!

What are you talking about? I never said I thought I had terrible teachers. I just said that I give everyone some amount of respect until I see they really don't deserve it. SOME teachers aren't as fru fru nice you think they are. They couldn't care less about your education and just want the money because THEY weren't successful.Eyecu wrote:

To long to quote Eyecu
you said just that, by saying your teachers bitch and moan and couldn give a damn about you.
Harden up
sit still
and listen to what they have to say.
They don't earn much so why would they be just for the money?
And I DO still no what techers are like these day. I've only been outa school three years. And a freind of mine is also a highschoom teacher.
So don't give me any bullshit about you don't no this or that.
And beleive it or not most teachers WANT to be a teacher.
So I don't no where you got that stupid story about how they don't care about your education because they weren't succseful... -

I'll expand on this a bit more. In my eyes, by you saying we are disrespectful because we are teenagers. Is shoving everyone between 13-19 into one group. One group in which you are insulting. I find it very disrespectful to mark me as disrespectful just because I'm 15. I hate it how everyone just sees us as druggies who are having sex 24/7. Most of us aren't like that.I respect everyone I meet. I'll smile to them in the street. Ask how they are ect.
In return i get treated shit. The other day, I nearly got punched by a 35 year old man. His wife had to stop him. He was willing to punch a 15 year old disabled kid because I smiled at him
You don't deserve my respect, but I will still give you it. In hope that one day, you'll return it.
You teach us not the be shallow and judge everyone. Look at yourselves. You are judging a millions people all at once. All because of the odd few

My parents have always treated me like an adult. I never had religion, political leanings, or even social issue beliefs, pushed on me growing up. I might have been a handful sometimes, but when I saw that a lot of my friends didn't have the same options I did, and were forced to be what their parents had planned for them, I just naturally developed respect for them. I love my parents as now as an adult, as much as I did when I was a teen. I did disregard this respect here and there, but I learned from all the choices, social interactions, and situations, I've encountered. I'm so glad they let me have enough freedom to be able to gain the life experience I needed. I know for a fact I'm a better person for learning from a lot of the negative stuff early. Im not sure if i would have learned moderation if I did the things I did as a teen, now that I'm in my twenties.
same thing for me 2

Personally I always showed respect I learned this from the family. Respect is very serious in our family, I guess teens who have no respect meaning really the worst of the worst I think has alot to do of their surrounding alot of factors

Agreed. Sometimes I learn more about the world and how it should be from listening to my 6 yr old than some adults as he is still thinking in a more or less unbiased way. Unwarped, I guess. I respect his ideas and thoughts as valid and lo-and-behold he does the same for me.Killing Man wrote:
