  I've asked multilingual folk this, and fluent speakers have said that they think in whatever language they are speaking... Maybe it's different for different people but they basically implied that they didn't translate on the fly, just thought in that language...

  Umm sometimes I wonder what language animals think in. Like when my dog has to pee the literal words "I have to pee" don't go through her mind. Must be a very descriptive thought process. "myself really feels the urge to get rid of this fluid waste". I dunno maybe I'm crazy. My dog probably needs a walk.
