At the bottom is ok, because there's no place to go but Up!

I started working for this company 5 years ago. When I started it was a temporary assignment. There was no garintee that a permanent position was available.
I worked hard I gave more than any person is expected to give. Just to prove I am worthy. So they found a position for me. I did my job day in and day out I showed up on time like I've always done, and then "the economy" brung layoffs and unfortunatelty I was one of them.
But then business picked up I was re-hired brought back at the same pay, but since the layoffs it seems are department was overwhelmed. Morale was low. Everyone was expected perform above and beyond what is expected. I recently had a chance to speak to the owner of the company and I said to him I need more training to be more affective at my job. By the end of the week I was enrolled at Richland Community College in pursuit of an AS degree in industrial maintenance Enginerinng at there expense.
Hoorah.. I just wanted to share that with you all so feel free to put me in the ER -
Well done!

That's positive and productive, the opposite of reasons to put someone in the ER.
Congrats.

You deserve everything you have, because nobody gave you anything. You earned it thourgh hard work and you're an asset to that company. They are lucky to have you. Good luck, and keep pushing that pile!

The exact kind of person that we should all be in our jobs.
Kudos to you! -

Good job man. 👍

Congrats dude. What gets a bee in my bonnet are the people that have no respect for their work. E.g always late, days of sick for things as minor as a papercut (trust me I have had that excuse used before) and still expect to keep there job. Furthermore they sometimes expect a payrise. You on the other hand have personally gone out of your way to better yourself in order to progress an further your career and you deserve everything you get! 👍

Good for you! If more people had your work ethic we wouldn't be in the mess we are now in.

I wish that everyone who works as hard and faithfully as you was rewarded like this. Unfortunately some of these people get lost in the shuffle. Well done to you and keep up the good work.

This is rare. This sort of thing doesnt happen very often for people like me. I'm an old dog I've had my chance and I blew it. Now fate has seen fit to give me a second chance, and assure you I will not piss this one away. My classes start on Wednesday; Electrical motors fundamentals, fluids and power fundamentals, and then my class of the day CNC fundamentals. It's like prayers have been anwsered. Everyone who knows me has said to me "you've earned it, you deserve this, congratulations, we are so proud of you.
I've recieved the same response here. I can't help but to be moved and inspired by that.
Thanks again Turfwars friends!!!
You all are... First Class players -
I am so proud of you!! Amen to having a hard working man!! And yes you can teach an old dog new tricks!!

Great news man! Also, you must be working at a good company. Not many are good enough to do what they did. 🙌

Sounds like "how to succeed in business without really trying" you know, the one with the guy who played harry potter in the movie? Oh bloody hell now what was his name?
