Anyone from Virginia or know how bad it is in th state? Got a nephew who in uni there ain't hear from him...news seems to say diff things about severity, I believe it's northern virginia

Got a time share in Norfolk, that got a lot of damage
Everything got flooded there.

Is norfolk northern Virginia? Gotta checkbwith my sis find out area again, everyone here worried which is understandable but I'm sure he will be ok, he only got there a week ago and 1 day after he got there the warnings came, he 19 but my Sis treats him like baby CIA he got chrones disease,if she heard this b4 she wouldn't o let him, she a worrier n that's why tryna put her mind at rest, just Cos she ain't spoke to home for 24hrs doesn't mean the worst,but hey u try comforting a worked mother!

Norfolk is in southern virginia right by the coast.

Hey bk....how ya doing mate? Yeah I'm sure he will be fine , I know he about 4+ miles from the coast of Virginia....just horrible see my sis worry, I bet he just been out on a might out and is hung over in bed, lol.....I think we are in for more severe weather on regular basis! Infact I'm sure placed like uk that don't usually get more than hurricane every few years are gonna start seeing more severe wether!

I feel for people being evacuated, I mean where do they go If they are poorer and can't afford hotels etc,or don't have family or means to get to family? I think we lucky in uk, when those people were made homeless in the riots they were given emergency accommodation, that was a small scale and in the uk. But I believe it's diff in USA isn't it? Emergency shelters etc are not so straight forward and easy to aquire , and even if was a system I'm sure the pure volume of evacuees is gonna put a strain on resources

Ya and as it seems for slot of places it may have been a bit of an over reaction to evac soooo many people...but it's a better safe then sorry thing. If it did flood say new York and the gov didn't evac we'd be pissed. Sucks so many have been displaced...but better safe then sorry.

I live on the outer banks and it's as bad as they say it is, everything was completely flooded.

The power is out as far north as connecticut so could be your nephew has no access to phone because he can't charge his mobile.
