Negotiate with Orange
Forums › General Discussion › Negotiate with Orange-
So random I know but I wonder do any of you players have any hints and tips on how to change a contract that has ended with orange so that I can get a shiny new iPhone for free and not get raped on monthly line rental?
I'd like to stay with orange and keep my number and magic numbers..
But tried ringing them last night and they were more expensive than if I signed up as a new customer.
Any hints? -
Phone them again, say your thinking of leaving because of better deals elsewhere. You should get put through to the retentions dept, they can do deals. You won't get a great deal with going for an iPhone as apple basically tells orange what it can and can't do.
Stuff like your numbers should be fine and it should stop you getting done up like a kipper.
Hope that helps -
Cheers.
The joke is if I start a new contract it's cheaper than starting a new contract direct with orange. -
Wait, they always leave it to the last min and then they will contact you, be patient and when they call say your waiting for vodafone to call you back as you spoke to them an hour ago👊

Say you heard a better deal via O2. Plus you need to wait for the new iPhone to come out. Should be decent ;-)

And marky I'm hoping to get the phone for £0 so I reckon the 5 will cost and be limited availability. -

5 will definitely cost. When I got my 4, renewed with o2 but waited 3 months to re-sign in to an 18 month contract, still paid for my handset but managed to get 10% off handset and line rental. Saved £57 for the contract duration. Not a lot but every penny helps I guess, now when 5 comes out I can't upgrade until 3 months before my renewal is due, Jan. Not too fussed though.jay k wrote:

When you speak to Orange about renewal don't haggle with the sales reps as they have limited control over discounts. Ask to speak to someone in the retention dept, these are the guys that call you with special discounts after you leave, they have the power to offer discounts. It also depends on who you get lumbered with on the other end lol.

Just tell them you can get better deals elsewhere. And if they want to keep you as a client they need to match the deals or offer better ones. Most companies will listen since they don't want to lose clients. Also you can go to a new company and keep your old number. There's a fee though. But it is an option. Well in Canada at least
