I've got six dogs. They're my family. They show me love beyond words. I would die for them and they would die for me. They dont lie, steal or cheat. And I worry, because they live to please., loyal as the day is long and live only to love me and my family. And when they go, they leave us a hole in our heart.

I have a dog.. And I would risk losing part of my life for him..

Yes.
Here is why:
Dogs have a natural gene for loyalty, they remain loyal until death. Can't say that about people.
Dogs don't lie or cheat or steal. They don't know how to. We humans must learn this, and we need laws to enforce this.
I respect your opinion; get a dog and you may feel differently.

I love my dog dearly. He's extremely loyal and has put himself in harms way several times for me. I'd do just about anything to protect his well being. But dying for him is not one of them.

Ask a police officer who has a K9 dog how he he/she feels about thier dog.
Ask rescue persons who ask thier dogs to find people in fires or who are lost or are buried in rubble how they feel about. thier dogs. I am not trying to sway anyone; I'm just trying to have compassion for a lost friend. I don't want to go off topic, though.

You're right.

Dogs are loyal. But for the most part they are loyal to food.

Dogs don't lie or cheat or steal. But only because they aren't capable.

I have a dog which I love to bits, but I certainly wouldn't die for her....that's just daft.
