I barely have dreams.. But If I do dream I either have a nightmare or a lucid dream. At least I think it's a lucid dream anyway... And if I fall from a cliff or something to the ground I always wake up.

Hah. My dreams are seriously complex. More complex than real life, sometimes. I usually end up in this place from the past, I see people and I have these weird self-conscious debates with myself in my head.

If you can control your dreams and have sex with everyone you ever wanted, is that classed as cheating??? 😺😺😺

Ya most times when I get Deja vu it's just a second or two. But rare times I know what will transpire before it actually happens.kozy, so it's deja vu?
bakedb- I meant to let you know that there are several good books on this topic if you are interested. just search amazon for lucid dream.

My favorite thing is to drive without a car. I take a running long jump and just don't put my feet back down.
Sometimes I lose control and the dream stops "obeying" me. Always happens when I'm trying to show something miraculous to the "extras" cast in my dream.

how many of you know when u are asleep? well im one of the few who can say i can control my dreams trust myself enough to jump off a building in my sleep, to wake my self up. i can choose to stay asleep longer or wake up it really pretty kool. if you can pay attention to the little details in your dream you will know your asleep. i think of it as im always awake in a way if you know what i mean. how many of you can relate?
Think your just daydreaming...

Yah, those that have dealt with you know what kinda livid dreams you have..... Naughty lil thing you.I've trained myself to lucid dream over the years. I have a great one every couple of months. wish it happened more often. you are lucky. enjoy it. I still haven't been able to fly but can jump incredibly wildly high without waking up, so I'm getting closer. I just want to bounce a couple times and just "stay" up.
i become lucid far more often. ie I know when I'm in a dream. once I begin to take control of the dream, my consciousness will often then wake me up. it's been tricky learning to not only be lucid, but to then stay relaxed and not begin getting excited and pushing it too hard. that's when I wake myself up and am disappointed. another missed opportunity to fly or breathe underwater or whatever.
i suppose this would seem quite bizarre to someone who has never heard of lucid dreaming.

lucid dreaming is unnatural and in my opinion, shouldn't be done. The brain dreams to work out what happened during the day to remember data. Dreams are also used show your hidden emotions that you accidentally ignore during the day. By lucid dreaming your overriding this system. Seen as your changing the plotted plan the data the brain was meant to be looking over or memorising has now be cancelled out by you taking over and changing everything.
The reason you wake up is that you've gained control over what you shouldn't have. It then wakes you up to restart the process and try again.
When you wake up. You naturally forget your dreams as your brain doesn't want to remember the useless memory of your brain analasing data.
I'll mention this again for any ragers. This is a opinion and a theory partly proven right. I say partly because it's impossible to prove anything about the brain. If you enjoy lucid dreaming. Good for you.

i respect your oppinion but what kind of a natural dream puts u in a nightmare. i got sick of them so now i lucid dream i make it better. if my dream goes good though then i let it play itself out.

Your brain is believed to have nightmares to simulate the adrenaline system. It's to keep things going making sure the system is working all right.
However, sometimes it can the brain try to remember details from a horror movie for instance. It tries to learn from the experience and remember what to do next time as your brain cannot tell the difference between movie and real life.... -
how do u know so much about all this?
-
I read, a lot. I know loads on strange subjects like this.. It's one of my passions
Any reason why you ask? -
no it just seams that you have alot of knowledge about the subject. have u ever tried it?
-
I've tried it. But I've done by mistake. Just the casual, how am I breathing underwater? Hey, why can't I see myself in that mirror?
And I have to admit. It was fun once I got going. Just doing random crap I wouldn't dare do in real life. Like I decided to swim the English channel and eat a burger in Paris. I'd already messed it up by noticing I was dreaming. So why not go all out? xD
-
Sorry I haven't tried it**

I've never tried it but i read it works by distracting your senses from the feeling of you being in bed so you fall back into the dream.....

allighty thanks for the tips

I've wanted to train myself for a while now. Just happens by accident.it's fun

I don't think I've ever read so much shite in all my life....and I once read 'sex and the city' the novel.
-
This all sound so interesting! I'll have to put it on the reading list...
-
"lucid dreaming is unnatural and in my opinion, shouldn't be done...."
interesting. I'll try to read up on this theory. flying in a plane is also quite unnatural and affects the body in numerous ways but we do it without thinking.
personally I've only found learning to lucid dream beneficial and positive. just developing excellent dream recall alone has been wonderful and inspires my imagination.
it's been extremely helpful for my creativity, especially writing.
I do not fear bringing my unconscious processes closer to my conscious mind though. that is quite often all therapy is doing anyway, except this is free.
interesting perspective though.

oh and viper, I was talking about my lucid dreams, not my lurid ones. that's a very different thread. 😜
