You left out the most important part. He has cancer and can't afford treatment, he makes the meth so that his family will have enough money to not have to worry once he dies.
I would say breaking bad and sons of anarchy are the 2 best shows on tv

And the prequel gods of the arena. They did the prequel as the second season because the lead actor has cancer and couldn't film the second season.

I thought all the programs on Malaysian TV were bad, but I'm currently in UK and they are worse. At least in Malaysia I can get cheap DVDs of programs. Breaking Bad is great as are Modern Fam, Dexter, mad men etc.
