Well, my PS3 got the Yellow Light of Death, anyone know how to fix it.
Disclaimer: This is not a console war, I just need help. Also, if you do not know what the Yellow Light of Death is, please don't post.

Yep, me too. I looked on the internet and there are instructions on how to pull it apart. But if that doesn't work, the warranty will be invalid (if you've still got one).

Y'all must not care for your system. I've had mine since it first came out and still works like a charm. Never hard of the yellow light though

I've had mine for 3 years and had no problems. You guys need to take better care of your stuff.

This. I've had both my Xbox and ps3 since they came out and neither have any problems

What's the yellow light of death? I've heard of the red light of death for xbox, but never ps3

Because ps3's rarely break down. When it happened to me I was so confused until I looked it up.

Wrong. It's a serious HARDWARE malfunction. Either bluray drive, power pack or the most likely problem, the CPU has overheated and cracked the soldier. It's easily fixed, just google it :)

The ps3 has a yellow light? I never knew that

I believe this only happens to fat ps3s and it means it has an "undefined hardware malfunction". Basically, call up sony and see if you can get it fixed. If you start pulling apart your ps3 and it turns out to be much harder to fix, then your screwed.

More info: First problem in around 3 years.
Took out the Hardrive, put it back in, nothing.
And major, it's because the YLOD is less common.

I might just get a new PS3. They say 150$ and 2-6 weeks! The PS3 is old and Mw2 is stuck in the disc drive... 350$ one of the newer PS3 versions, controller, and a copy of MW2. Plus no waiting!

Umm ur CPU might just need thermal compound since it over heated it's easy.
