My parents said they would pay for me to go skydiving for my 17th birthday, and i have never been more excited in my life. Any pointers/stories from people that have done it before?

Look up skydiving in the state you live in, then check thier rating, see how long they have been doing jumps. When you sign the waiver make sure you leave me your turf ;)

...by the way you will be fine... Just don't forget to have fun!

If at first you don't succeed, skydivings not for you.

One guy went skydiving and his chute didn't open. He dove near the everglands so he aimed for a swamp. He actually survived due to the cushioned ground.

I remember my first time, there were several of us in the plane and I was trying to rescue my girlfriend. This one thumb bastard says to me "You're about to jump out a perfectly good airplane, how do you feel about that?" It went downhill fast from there, I'll skip the details but then I was all bad ass and jumped with no parachute. It's okay though as I caught up with Bodhi and ended up sharing his.
Morale of the story: When you go make sure you pick the right friends to go with.

I jumped Sept 1, 2000. Didn't care much for the free fall, thought it was extremely loud. After pulling the chute, however, was the best part. Totally quiet, no dogs barking in the distance, no cars, planes. It was awesome.
Found out the hard way I don't have any depth perception. Pulled the brakes too high up and hit the ground hard.

I have about 40 jumps behind me. You will love tandem jump, after your first one you will feel you can do anything in the world and are invincible.
It will feel like laying down on a couch of air. Don t worry the instructor is there to help you. You will make a ball on exit and spread when out, the instructor will open the chute and you guys will glide. Everybody should at least do it once in their lives.
I used to go to San seb in Florida 15 years ago

You need to hire a 2nd jumper to film you, but its definitlely worth it(make sure they record in 720p or or 1080p (definitly not 720i or anything i for that matter )
Also interlaken switzerland would be the nicest place to skydive imo, beautiful scenery.
And have fun!
its really not that scary, bungee jumping is scarier than skydiving, that high up you dont have as much "vertigo" sensation. -
Hey ya u definitely need a helmet camera
I have one 1080 I take it skiing, mtbing, kayaking then I dub music to it and cut some great pics of our trips
U gots to get a camera
Also I've worn it at some latkes we've hosted after everyone's loosed up a bit and even at our age we and our friends still have fun with it

The muddy swamp acted as a huge cushion. It's like what stuntmen use in movies when they jump out of buildings. He didn't survive by muchboomroasted wrote:

My uncle, who is blind, did one a couple of months back - said it was amazing! His guide dog hasn't been the same since tho...
