GPS Spoofer?
Forums › General Discussion › GPS Spoofer?-
I just got attacked by someone who has zero turf within 2000 miles of me., In fact, every turf on this persons list is east coast.
I'd also like to point out that I have a friend well within striking distance of this person. A friend whose name I can not mention.
When I click his name, it says me and my turf are too far away.
How can this person attack me in a non-cheating way?

I dunno but bump

I think we should be careful about what we call 'cheating'. I was in a hotel the other day in MS and for some reason the gps thought I was in Philly. If u think that's something, my friends in a nearby hotel were 'located' in Tokoyo. My impression is that tgis happens a lot at various hotels because of the way their wi-fi networks are setup.

My home wifi thinks I'm in Columbine rather than Phoenix.

Hmmm... I've thought I may have missed something, but now I think about it I could have had few of my turfs captured by turfs outside capturing distance

If you get way-off GPS results you may want to update your WiFi location with SkyHook. They handle all the location info when on wifi for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Their update form is at http://www.skyhookwireless.com/howitworks/submit_ap.php - the added bonus you'll get is ALL your apps will get the right location from Skyhook, not just Turf Wars.

So... Who got banned?
-
Well I'm in Edison but my location is colonia mais I'm on the border lol. So it's all good.

I'm going on holiday soon and plan on setting up some turf.. Hope I don't get banned!!

I'm going on my honeymoon in May, Miami, Argentina, Azores, Portugal, and Spain. Oh yeah, and the middle of the ocean :)~

@ Matt: I brought up the turf issue because your or your turf have to be within range. He had no turf here. That means he had to be here. Literally within minutes of being attacked, I tried to hit back and got the message that I was too far away.
Due to my unique georaphic location, you can either be within 500 miles of me or over 2200 miles from me. In between thos two distances is no possible.
This person did not appear on my fight list or my invite mobsters page.
Now I know that does prove beyond the shadow of a doubt, and that is why I did not name or report anyone. I threw it out here to get the collective opinion.

@ Nick: are you certain? I would hate to think that someone was reset because I was wrong.
-
Nick, just so you know, I'm driving to Texas in 2 weeks, don't ban me, I plan to place turfs all along the road
-
I think real travel is easily distinguished on the gps logs.
It's when you go 4500 miles and back in under ten minutes that draws out the ban hammer.

It's called jailbreaking u can download it off the net, heard about it don't know full details bit it will let u have multiple accounts on 1 device
