You know now that you mention it, a guy told me he had heard from a lady who had a friend (he didnt say if it was a male or female, but I digress) who had read something about a poll like that somewhere.I read something recently, I can't remember where, but it stated that in a recent poll 47% of Americans with a high school education or less believe in god/religion, and only 22% of Americans who have attended college/university.
Truth, belief, fact. There's a difference.
Truth, belief, fact. Cite your source next time and I'll be somewhat more impressed. -
Don't forget they now have your address I would report!

I started reading the bible because we had to in public school in grade 5 or 6(10 or 11 years old). I couldn't get through the first few pages. After I realized all the incest that was happening I thought this is not something I want to be a part of. It didn't make any sense to me. I thought incest was wrong yet the bible states that's how we all started. Also the crusades, forcing religion upon people and killing those who oppose. I thought the bible said thou shalt not kill? I guess that only applied to killing others of the same faith at the time?

Instead of typing a sarcastic useless comment you could have went to google and found one of many articles in the same amount of time. Impressed? What is there to be impressed about?Kozy wrote:

Google - religion vs education. Figure it out for yourself ya big jakeass

Please. Please. Let's not start another religious argument. It's been done way to many times. And I can't put up with preachers.

Just throw it away. Damn why do people get all worked up over religion. No I'm not religious but I don't pound people because they may actually think it's a good thing and they want to share it with you. Grow up, it won't hurt you.
Agree 100%, did it brainwash you? There are real problems in the world and this is the one chose to complain about really??! Why not complain about the ever growing debt.

I disagree on some Jewish beliefs but I still respect them as God's chosen people. Just throw it away and be the mature one.

To be honest, I'm not horrified or anything about people's beliefs. They're free to think about whichever supernatural beings they like. Its just that it was uncolicited, and more of a surprise than anything else. I'd also just been reading about a so called charity 'Project Prevention', which is religion at its most awful. Time and a place, etc.
If I wanted to know about a saviour and the battle of good and evil, if go for something more contemporary, like Harry Potter. -

Big Jakeass. That's a new one. You slid to name calling pretty quick. I'm gonna hop on over to Google. I know all my college professors lover it when I used cited websites as sources. Especially Wikipedia.Big Jake wrote:

My point is that regurgitating polls and websites is not what intelligent debate is made of. And when discussing a subject as deeply personal as religion or the choice to having nothing to do with it, then one should be prepared with facts less it become some sort of personal witch hunt which it appears it is for you hence my time wasting will now stop. Drop the name calling though.....cuz I'm just petty enough to cap you for it.

Lol. My point wasn't really to preach... It was more to see who would get worked up over it. So far? No one! I'm pretty impressed...

@Big Jake
Sorry you found jakeass immature but I figured maturity wise it was on the same level as your initial response. Also I never intended to get involved in a intellectual debate. I read something I thought was interesting and thought I would share. That's why I said google. It's quick and easy and I'm not about to waste my time attempting to prove something I don't care about. We all have our own beliefs. But that's just what they are. I believe there is no god, I can't prove there isn't, it's an impossible thing to prove. Just like it is impossible for anyone who does believe, to prove a god exists. Same goes for Jesus. Where is he in the roman and Jewish records? Immaculate records were kept, why is there no mention of this amazing being? He doesn't exist outside of the bible. There is 0 proof outside of the bible. As for citing sources, kinda hard to believe something when there is only 1 source, the bible.

I'm an atheist, I'm only 13. I always find it amusing when people have religious arguments. Why do so many people care about religion? Does it really affect you now? No, it is all about what happens when you die. Maybe there is a God, an almighty Lord, then me and every other Atheist would shit ourselves after dieing. I just dont see the big deal with religion. It just causes problems, such as the Taliban hating America for their beliefs. All incredibly stupid.
