Uk heads, isn't this one of the worst summers in along time, thismorning I am fighting not to turn my heating on, it's July and cold.

don't remember it being much better in last 3 years, least we havent had any flooding yet, but gotta say it's been pretty dismal, with the only sun available being the newspaper variety

Aaaaaactually global warming will cause the ice caps to melt and receed dumping alot of cold water into the oceans and screwing with weather patterns all over the world...Just because it's colder this year doesn't mean global warming isn't happening...as the ice caps melt they begin to shift which many scientists believe is essentially the start of a new ice age. Global warming will inevitably lead to global cooling and a new ice age...all this should only take a few thousand years.

And as an FYI would happen without human intervention naturally humans have only sped it up by a few hundred years...not a he'll of alot in the grand scheme of things.

And just because you are colder doesn't mean other places in the world aren't seeing record-breaking heat and drought, which then induces record flooding elsewhere

Yes. "global warming" was the wrong thing to call it. Global climate change, however, is real. They called it "warming" bc of the effect on the polar caps. Since they are melting the earth must be warming... They used this term even though they knew that the temp didn't rise everywhere and gets considerably cooler in some regions. They should call it global atmospheric cycle.
