Not what you think. She has cerebral palsy. Couple years ago she had Botox injections in her calves. Today she got injections in both inner thighs and both calves. Helps the muscles relax. Not a pleasant experience, especially when the dr. starts out "this is gonna hurt"

The dr also injects Botox into the tongues of people who stutter to help them stop stuttering.

Ugh, that sounds horrible. Botox gets rid of wrinkles, doesnt it?

I hope it helps. It does not provide a permanent remedy does it? Are their other options available? Perhaps more effective or long lasting?

If it gives you any solice, reading this thread has helped me make up my mind to not have my procedure done. When I heard it got rid of wrinkles, I made an appointment to have my scrotum botoxed. I think I'll pass now.

Wow, I had no idea they used Botox that way. Ouch, indeed!! I have a cousin who's daughter has CP...they've not tried that to my knowledge. But what they have tried is fascinating--some of it. Always amazing what is done these days.

Thnx for the thoughts. It's not actually a big deal. Just odd they use Botox.

She's actually has had both Achilles tendons lengthened by surgery. To keep her toes from curling they inserted rods into each of her toes. That sucked. I had to carry her around for a week or so Til she could walk.

Why are you eating hula hoops?
It's amazing what things they do with Botox these days (not referring to the optional plastic surgery type things).

I hope the soreness doesn't last long & it starts working quickly!
