Mind trick:
It's very important that you don't skip ahead:
-Think of a number between 1 and 9
-Multiply it by 9
-Add the two digits together
-find it's corresponding letter in the alphabet
-think of a country in Europe that starts with that letter
-Think of an animal that starts with the second letter in that country's name
- what color is that animal
Were you thinking of a grey elephant in denmark?

It works on 9/10 people. Try it out.

1 x 9 = 9. There is no second digit.

Actually no, it is interesting. Not understanding something doesn't equal that it's stupid.

There's a weird neurolinguistic reason tricks like this do work but the 1/10 statistic is part of the trick. It's much lower but high enough that it works on a lot of people.

ChainsawCharlie, who is the moron here, ur meant to multiply it by 9, not 1, which would give u 81!

If u multiply any number by 9 and add up the digits, it always comes back to 9 anyway

I think he got it confused because the number will always end up being 9. The 9th letter of the alphabet is "I," thus it can never be in Denmark. (If you subtraced by 5, once you got the 9, you could get the letter "D."
