Ok so I land in Calgary and I have weakened turf because....why? I don't use in-game plane tickets. I think if you travel somewhere physically, you shouldn't get a penalty. It would sort of make traveling to places worth it.

Iggy I just went to D.C on vacation and dropped a few turfs. I did not see a penalty on the one's I placed. If you do travel and use a real damn ✈ don't drop your first turf in the TW Airport zone. Get outside that area first then drop a turf for no penalty. Then you can hop back to the airport and use it.

when I was in NH and away from any airport zone I still was weaker because I was noob to the area. fortunately there aren't any other players in the white mountains. so I'm still capo at profile school.

When you hop back to the airport be careful to place using the turfs radius not the airport radius.

Doesn't work. First turf in a new area gets weakened whether from GPS placement or a plane ticket. Seems like a bug (or an unfortunate "feature").

Im in midland Texas this weekend dropped a turf and I have a penalty for that. I think there shouldnt be

Johnny - Your turf in DC was within 150 miles from an existing turf. I have turf in NY and used a ticket to DC without penalty. I flew in RL to Mexico and dropped a turf with penalty (no where near a TW airport).

What do you mean that the turf is weaker? I've never noticed that.

When the airport feature was introduced, the game was changed so that any turfs placed more than 150 miles from its player's existing turf would have 40% less defensive power for 4 weeks. This is so that local players can more effectively defend the area from invasion. (I've heard that this penalty doesn't apply if the turf is in your "current location" radius, but I could be wrong, and it could be the case that the turfs in question will end up taking the defense drop anyways if you leave the area. I'm also not sure if the defensive penalty wears off gradually or is a static value that's lifted all at once when the 4-week period expires.)

I was penalized within what I believe you are referring to as my "current location radius," but you'd have to more clearly define that for me. I was very near my home. I was also physically there and it wasn't an airport. However, I had not had turf in my home state for a while. So my "home" turf was considered to be a turf I had in Alabama rather than Texas. And all penalties wear off gradually. You don't really have to speculate when there's a feedback button.

I just traveled to central NY (near Syracuse) And went north to Oswega and got a penalty =(

Well I'm more than 150miles from my nearest turf so I guess that's the reason.
