Humans all sharing wealth and resources and there's no rih or poor just hamony...not likely. The ideal government is probably where the officials have power, but they don't control every aspect of your life. The point of this being, though, that obama is moving a little too far left for me.

I don't believe in evolution, but that makes alot of sense.

Who are these people that don't want health care? I've never met anyone.
As for NASA. I'm glad it's been cut. The program is a huge waste of money and a sham. We have NEVER been to the moon. It was all a big lie to distract Americans from the war.

If we take care of our world, we will not need a space program. It's as simple as that. As for healthcare, maybe everyone should read the bill before they make an ignorant post. I read the bill right when it came out, and I can say that it is better for our country. While I am a huge advocate of as much freedom as possible, sometimes it is a necessity to step in and govern people. Individually people can be very intelligent, but as a whole the stupidity of people can be astounding and depressing. If you are against healthcare, then I challenge you to give a legitimate reason why and explain how it has affected you negatively.

I have experienced health care systems in the UK, France, Canada, US, and Malaysia, and I wish more Americans would also do that before criticising (sp?) improvements to the American system because compared to the systems in other countries, especially for a first world country, it leaves a lot to be desired. Not least for the amount of money creamed off the top from health services by the insurance companies.

As long as health insurance companies exist we will never have the best health care in the world. The health insurance industry has no interest in making people healthy. They exist to make money. Take the health insurance companies out of the equation (and especially disconnect health insurance from employment) and we will be much better off.
Imagine how much money businesses could save without the burden of health care? They could actually afford to HIRE employees.

You know, that's a decision I really never understood and still don't. India has a lot, and I mean a LOT of money. Just a few days ago the tax man their published figures on incomes for some of the main temples across india, they make millions. Just 1 temple in south India, they found 7 huge underground chambers, they've opened 6 already an so far have collected..wait for it.. 100 million crores worth of gold and silver, god statues, coins and cash. That's roughly £10 billion! And 1 chamber left to open. Point being Indias financial position is so solid and r&d is just as up to date, they can easily fly 1 space mission a yr no aid needed! But there's too much political corruption.Don't worry the uk is giving India so much doh
There space missions won't ever stop lol

Anyway this thread has lost direction. What's this mission about? Are they going to get bush back from the moon? Leave him there I say.

If it's the end of an era of shuttles to space, does that mean that the training an astronaut went through will change now? Being that there will be newer craft or ways of reaching space?....what was the first virgin "feathered" flight? Is that tethered ? I've heard about this tethered launching, they connect a wire(lamens explanation) from earth to a satellite and basically use like an elevator. Is this what u was talking about?

Pro:
Easier for people to get the care they need.
Reduces bankruptcy and financial hardship for those on the lower end of the economy.Reduces cost (artificially)
May save lives in some circumstances, (but may also take lives of the old and seriously sick with regulation and beurocracy)
Con:
Taxes producers heavily
Causing: unemployment, lower standard of living potential, and increasing poverty.Relinquishes freedom/responsibity, a core motivator in our economy.
Increases government involvement in our lives.
Takes money from the health care system, reducing quality of service, and de-incentivizes new medical professionals.
Be honest. Try it.

Lol, well I tried to make it as unbiased as possible, because I don't favor either party, but trying and doing are different things. I don't want to argue angrily with you, but I do enjoy the debate. I will refresh myself on this subject tonight. ☺

We don't exactly need the space program. It hasn't honestly done that much, and it is very costly. It was and still is a solution looking for a problem. And as far as health care most American jobs supply hmos. Hence why healthcare has never really been an issue
-
Our healthcare system works and always has. It was in need of some minor tweaking but that could have been done anyways. Things like the ability to get or switch coverage with pre existing conditions could've been done in far less costly and freedom compromising ways
