Doesn't it seem like there are a disproportionate number of bawbags complaining about grammar on the Internet these days? What is your opinion?

I try to spell words correctly but it's the wud for would and gud for goods that get me. I understand that we're typing on touch screens and phones so I can see something like; "Brb I'll have 2 c u later". Shorthand like that I accept as a cell phone related necessary evil, but there's no benefit to using words like kewl in place of cool. It bugs me. Punctuation...not so much.

"there IS a disproportionate number of bawbags complaining" or
"there ARE disproportionate numberS of bawbags complaining"
Not sure, but "there are a disproportionate number of bawbags complaining" doesn't sound quite right.
