So long and thanks for all the shoes

Any NOFX fans? They came to town last night. Awesome show. I still smell like punk rock and whiskey. Huuuge pit full of dirty smelly mohawks. Reminded me of the 90s "back in the day". Those guys are so old now but they sounded great and rocked our faces.

No fans here pal

Looks that way don't it...of course it was pretty early when I wrote this, true punk rock kids won't get their lazy asses out of bed untill after lunch!
-
Nice. I was just listening to "Franco Unamerican" & "She's Nubs" the other day. :)
-
& take a shower, stinko. The smell of day-old punk rock is something fierce.

I love NOFX, Monosyllabic Girl is one of my favorites. And, um, that one that goes "kill the pop stars, how ironic Kathleen, you've become the latest queen. Kind of like the punk rock Gloria Steinham, can't save the world by hating Men." I could google it to figure out the song name, but I don't feel like it.

Oops, rock stars, not pop. Sorry.

I wasn't much of a punk fan as a kid really, more metal. But jammed in a punk band for awhile...the party alone was worth it. NOFX is one of the few bands that were always just awesome fun with a point of some kind. They closed with kill all the white man and some weird musical skit where all the roadies came out and preformed this very half assed routine with the band. The theme of the musical was "everyone a racist...even if just a little bit."

I had a friend in high school in my chem class, everyday he'd call my name to get my attention, then I'd turn & he'd bust out with 🎵Don't call me white, don't caaaaaall me white!🎵

Nice. Where'd they play? I would love to see them again but I feel old as shit with all those young punks fans.

The show was at the forum in Halifax....pretty decent Canadian tour. Even played Newfoundland!
-
Oh shit ya I meant to say earlier; it was a blast from the past like I said felt like the 90s again. What snapped me back to 2011 you ask? On closer inspection of the Mohawk sporting newagers I realized the huuuuhe difference between the punk if my youth and the new avers...smartphones...it was kind of odd seeing all the gutter punk looking kids with iPhones.

Oh and primo, they divided the venue (perpendicular to center stage) 19+ on one side and below on the other. Luckily there's alot of old schoolers that snatched up tics so it wasn't so bad. I'd say average age of liqour side of things was 28-35...alotta grey hair out there (saved my head so you couldn't see my salt n pepper 😉).Nice. Where'd they play? I would love to see them again but I feel old as shit with all those young punks fans.
