My great-grandparents were Irish, came over during the potato famine. I barely knew them though & none of my family speaks Irish. I'm too old to enjoy getting drunk anymore, not to mention I can't because of my health.

I think it's Gaelic, not welsh. If I'm write, Gaelic is the original native tongue of Ireland, until the English took control of them. I think they made them take the Mc's, O's, and Mac's from their last names as well...

I can say failte and slainte and count to ten in Irish. I bought a bunch of books once but it was so hard to figure out.
