World War 2
Forums › General Discussion › World War 2-
I was watching a movie tonight on WW2 and was thinking that most of us playing turf wars now aged 13 up to maybe some folks in their 40s that we would either be fighting in Europe or the pacific. What a war it was and thanks to all the brave men and woman from around the world who helped defeat the enemies.
I remember seeing scenes from London where they had to place black tape on all the windows to block out all light going out to make it more difficult for the German luftwaffe to target the buildings.
I just though I would share this with everyone and again thanks to the brave folks otherwise we should be doing nazi salute.
Share you exp from family, friends and thoughs from documentary films -
I wish I was part of WW2
oh well there's always the ridiculous zombie breakout that's coming and the senseless riots that's bound to follow or just happen on thier own. Who knows maybe America would be invaded by mexico one day n I could have a use for all this gear that's layin around.
Lmao I still think Canada VS Mexico would be the best war ever. We'll be caught in the middle like a couple of kids on the play ground. Two is arguing back and forth then we get tired of it and punch them in the face knockin them out and taking their money for cookiesReminds me of when I was in kindergarden and cookies were 10cents as well as the milks and chocolate was 15 cents. WTF happend?

I think china invading Canada for our resources one day will draw in America to save our butts.

I don't think Ireland would ever have won our independence if ww2 wasn't happening at the same time. But then the nazis were going to turn us into a a platform to launch attacks against America. So it all worked out for us. Also some people say the nazis gave the irish army weapons, but iv never heard any solid historical evedance to support that.

I heard that, and I beleive the Germans thought the revolt would be a perfect chance to weaken England so giving Ireland weapons would be a smart move.I don't think Ireland would ever have won our independence if ww2 wasn't happening at the same time. Correct. In WW1, Germany asked Mexico to invade America , with the reward being most of the southern states. It was one of the reasons america joined the War in 1917.

My great uncle was at pearl harbor when it attacked. His buddies woke him up to go drinking that morning. He said it wasn't particularly right to drink on a Sunday, even though he wasn't a particularly religious guy. He eventually relented, and, half an hour later, his boat was at the bottom of the harbor.

The Nazis probably would've won if Hitler didn't invade Russia when he did.

Your right, fighting a 2 front war is very difficult .. You think the Germans would have learned from WWI , but I guess not:PThe Nazis probably would've won if Hitler didn't invade Russia when he did.

In the end attacking Pearl
Harbor was a mistake too. -

Stalins 5 year plans where all about increasing Russia's coal, oil and steel production to a level that could sustain a war against Germany. -
Either way Hitler couldn't fight two fronts. He also spent too many resources on killing Jews.
-
Of course it would take way to long to name the things Hitler did wrong.(He was a sick man)

Was D-Day the turning point of WWII? Or Stalingrad?
-
I think D-day.

I saw a clip of hitler cutting open and stripping a pregnant ladies stomach and left her to die on the streets.
-
Kursk was the turning point for me.

Band of Brothers is still my favorite tv series ever.... If you haven't watched it you should!
-
Ya for band of brothers and saving private Ryan one of best war movies and series.
-
If the us did not get involed when they did then I personally think hitler would of been too strong for the allied forces also if he had taken over London things would have been different
