Light is white but white is all the colours together. White light can be seperated into it's different colours. Eg when it is refracted (bent) or reflected. If a wall is painted white it reflects all the light. If it is black it reflects none, or very little. A red wall reflects the colours that combine to make red and absorbes all the rest. The absorbed light turns to heat. That's why black things heat up alot in sunlight.

Ps that's my understanding of it. Not sure if it's all correct.

Pps there is no such thing as a perfect white or perfect black. For a perfect white body the reflectivity would have to be infinite, for a perfect black it would have to be zero.

You are correct I think it's pretty intresting cuz when you some thing red in reality it's a combination of every color but red. It appears red to you becuase it reflects red

As said above, its visible light (electromagnetic radiation on a specific frequency) reflected only parts of it though. Its very hard to explain.

Levels of black, white & grey are shades. Earthbound colors are refered to as tones. All the rest from naturally reflected light are colors (or colours) but, not all are visible to the naked eye...such as ultra violets. There are also many variations (some man-made) like: incandescents, irriedescents, neons, pastels and metallics. (forgive my spelling on some words but, you can look it up. Try: colorwheels, it could be a good starting point.) 👍
