So as I was working on my music ( I use Logic pro and Reason 4 ), these crazy 16 bit diagonal lines came across the screen. I think I've given up any hope on retrieving any of the data that was left on the laptop. I'm sad that I didn't back anything up but I'd be just fine with a functioning laptop.
What's the hardest reset I can get? -
So lines across the screen? So what else happen, need a little more detail. Doesnt work no more?
-
There's nothing happening. It's a blue screen with blue green 16 bit lines. No arrow no anything.

So you can't do anything? Can you see the mouse? Have you tried turning it off? Something that might have happened was that the screen is broken, inside. You'll have to take it to the nearest Apple center, and see what they can do.There's nothing happening. It's a blue screen with blue green 16 bit lines. No arrow no anything.

Oh, and BTW, did Logic pro and Reason 4 work before?

Reason and logic worked fine. I'm gonna take it to a Mac genius today and see what they say.

If you're lucky it's just your video card, so you'll be able to fix the laptop and/or retrieve the data on it. This happened to my old laptop the month before releasing Turf Wars – the timing is always impeccable! So as I was working on my music ( I use Logic pro and Reason 4 ), these crazy 16 bit diagonal lines came across the screen. There was a known issue with nvidia chips in some MacBook Pros overheating. Call apple with your serial number, even if out of warranty, that may be covered.

Yeah. I'm hoping it's the video card because I have a ton of music projects to get done. I would hate to think of all that hard work flying out the window.

If you have access to another mac get yourself a FireWire cable and plug it in to both mac's. Turn the broken mac on nd as soon as it comes on press T. Then turn the other mac on and go to finder and you should see the hard drive for the broken mac. Take everything off and then fix ya broken mac.
