My girlfriend has a 3GS jailbroken with firmware 3.1.3 ,
Now she's getting trouble with it , so she want to upgrade to the last firmware (4.3 I think) ...
So my question is , if your phone is jailbroken ... Are you able to use it with any service provider , & where can I get the software to do so ?

I think it has to be unlocked to use on any provider. And unlocking is a ton of work cause you have to replace the sum card among other things

if u update to 4.3.1 you will not be able to unlock, check out dev team blog, and jailbreak matrix. it will explain what is needed and how to do it

Cuz her phone is already unlock to use another provider ! Is it unlock physically or with the jailbreak ?

U got a prg on the phone called cydia. If so that would be the unlock. Start that app, see if any updates are ready. Update and see if that helps.
The above sites will have step by step on how to reJB and unlock. Also way to upgrade and not upgrading the baseband of the phone which prevets unlocks

Unlocking and jailbreaking are two completely different things. Jailbreaking allows you to install unofficial 3rd party apps from Cydia where as unlocking allows you use any carrier. Just thought Id clear that up. Btw, if 4.3 is not unlocked for other carriers yet, try watching a YouTube video on how to update to a different version of iOS like 4.2 or 4.1. That way, it might have an unlock for it if you go lower.

Has to be unlocked. And u have to be jailbroken to unlocked. And I'm pretty sure it has to be a gsm carrier provider

As I said, you have to physically remove the sim card and replace it with another on top of all the software that has to be used.

I looked at jailbreaking my 4.3.1 iPhone 4. There is only a teathered version, teathered is just hassle. Is there a full jailbreak for 4.3.1?

Over here in the uk if u are on O2 they will unlock your iPhone perminatly for a small price of £15 I don't know if any of the networks in Canada offer this kinda service

4.3.3 untethered. Depends on what baseband for an unlock.

If you update your firmwear it gets un-jailbroken
