Big in the early 80s?

Me loves me some ska.
Ska story 1: At a Mighty Mighty Bosstones concert Dickie Barrett jumped down from stage, put his arm around me then thrust the mic in my face to sing with him.
Errrrr, I blanked on the lyrics in shock.
I was soooooo embarrassed.

Ska story 2: At a Toasters concert the lead singer jumped down from stage during instrumental jam. He bee-lined straight to me, pulled me over to some other ska maniac, then pushed us together and danced with us. 👫
During the break he explained to me he noticed me from the stage and liked my "style" (i was lookin and leapin 100% ska) so he decided to try to help me get laid. 💏
That there is a genuine plaid ska heart.

I like Operation Ivy and Less than Jake. If you consider them ska.

I was a big fan of streetlight manifesto about 6 years back but haven't really listened to it in a while. But now u got me thinking of finding those old CDs

It seems like no one listens to ska anymore... If they even know what it is. Reel Big Fish..... is or was the most well known so that's what I point them to..... Gotta go through the iTunes library RIGHT NOW!

I really like the old stuff from the 80s. Just got tickets for the Specials, they will be on tour in Germany. Check out their DVD from a a reunion concert in the UK last year, it is awesome.

Saw several Bosstones gigs at The Strand in RI 15 or so years ago. Real small venue which made for amazing performances. Never an issue with audience participation on or off stage. All was welcome.
Saw Reel Big Fish in mid to late 90's in a bar in NY. I had never heard of them before and just happened to stumble upon the bar & band. Another incredible show at a very small venue.

Big D and the Kids Table FTW!!!
