You guys are misunderstanding the g. It's simply for giving the new service a name.

Yes. But you were the one that said it had to do with satellites. The truth is officially it's for level of communications technology. Unofficially the cell phone companies use it's as a sales gimmick. You guys are misunderstanding the g. It's simply for giving the new service a name.

No I still know jt deals with satellites. The aspect you guys are looking at it us merely by name. What was talking about was the theory behind the 3G and 4g because technically speaking the g is satellites❕VW TDI❕ wrote:

The g stands for generation... It refers to the cellular generation not the phone, ie the network and it's speed and function.

I named the international telecommunications union. You named yourself. What is more credible in a debate? Find an online credible source or its not true.

I've been doing online debates for a long time. Most important thing is to find and cite sources. The arguments I'm right or I'm smart are not exceptable evidences in a debate.

Then get your money back because they are misleading you. I have yet to design a cell site where I had to run the fiber feed to a satellite.Belial wrote:

Are you really serious? Talk to your professors at Temple. Cell towers input are: 1)other cell towers 2) wired connection the internet.Cell phone towers are big ass antennas. Now where do you think they are getting their input? The SATELLITES get inputed to the towers and then outputted to your mobile device. Cell towers don't just make service and distribute it. Every antenna has a input and a output in this case the input is from the satellites. Gps don't use cell towers they simply get the input from the satellites. 2 completely different situations

Credentials are not evidence. If you want to prove a point you need to establish evidence. I did that bugsy providing a write up from the organization that actually sets what the cell phone standards are. So far your only counter OS your professors told you. That's not an exceptable argumentBelial wrote:

VW- at first I thought you were serious. The Brown said you were joking. Now I'm afraid you are serious.
All joking aside, if your school is teaching you that, you really need to challenge them.
I've been in the cell phone industry for the past 3 years and have had numerous discussions and meetings with techs from Att, Sprint and Verizon and never once has anyone mentioned satellites.
I've a friend of 26 years that currently works for a company that is building and/or converting cell towers to 4g for Verizon. Again no satellites.
Unless you can show us any published sources that verify your claim, you don't have a leg to stand on.
End seriousness
I've got an aluminum foil hat for you to wear while you sail past the mermaids on your way to the edge of the world.

VW, it's easy, I'm sure if your going through your qualifications then you must have a text book that backs up what your professors are saying. Simply quote them here as if you were writing a technical report, then you don't need to worry about online sources! If you can't then Belial I agree, the debate would appear to be at an end, if it's not written down it's a rumour!Belial wrote:

This thread went way off track

Then idk what to tell you guys cuz it came up in class one day when someone asked what is the difference between 3G and 4G. I don't have written proof. It sure made sense to me the way he explained it. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong but I had to reason to think I was

The way I see it is why would the professor go on this whole thing about the satellites being in parallel and the whole deal behind it if he knew it wasn't true?

I can't figure out which is funnier: The tards that are trying to argue the point or the people that are asking dumb questions on purpose to try to confuse the tards that are arguing the point.
