Yes I am from this country, and I didn't say the traditions are no good, in fact the ceremony was brilliant, but it annoys me how people say they're proud to be British because someone got married. Britain/England is something to be proud of for many other things and not because somebody gets married, I couldn't care less.

I want consistency. Either let me be an Englishman, happy to wave my flag etc whenever I like, or people must accept I won't be interested when I'm told to be so. I will not be a pavlovian dog, a hat wearing patriot when it suits the government, a simpering pc doormat when it doesn't.
On the plus side I got loads of work done in my garden today, and my pressure cooker hasn't looked so shiny since I can remember

We should be allowed to show the flag all year round, my dad is not from England, so when he was told he couldn't put the england flag up because it might offend people not from this country he started ranting a raving that anyone insulted by a flag needs a reality to check (left out alot of much stronger words that he used haha) this country is waaay to pc!!

That's a good point. That being said I find it embarrassing that so many people pay so much attention to that crap in the US. Concerning the Brits waving flags and whatever, more power to them. This was a dumb thread to make.
