Few things firstly it is a past monarchy in terms of decision making and the days of the empire. However all traditions have remained largely the same so people still call it the monarch.
Secondly the royals will have paid for the wedding with gains from investments so the only cost incurred by tax payer is extra police which i can't imagine would stretch even into the millions.
Third thing the money generated from the event would bring money into the British economy rather than costing tax layers money I imagine most London businesses benefited. -
Continuing Kate has multi-millionaire parents and would never have had to work a day in her life. Last time i checked people like this don't have long term relationships just to gold dog.
Finally the British monarch is still popular and famous worldwide due to changing it's ways and giving up the empire. Hence the large number of canadians and Aussies who came to britain for the wedding. Also the fact it's front page news all over the world.
Personally I wish them well and hope the monarch lasts for many years. -

I have to disagree on all counts. It's not about humility as much as it's about calling pork rinds caviar. Someone who is below average telling me (above average) that I'm a smart guy, but not nearly as smart as he is...
