Charity donations sponsoring !
Forums › General Discussion › Charity donations sponsoring !-
I've been looking into doing some charity work, fundraising events and such, just a quick question, " would I have the support of some players maybe sponsor or donate, I'm doing everything above board and it will be registered,or I will do it through an existing charity. It doesn't have to be alot, and I hope to develop it into something fun so everyone gets something out o it, the charity I would like to help/or cause is education for underprivelidged kids, books and such. I'm just getting a feel for if there would be any intrest not asking fr anything yet, neeto get registered first, or registered to an existing charity! The reason I am trying to register my own is that I don't trust ALL charities as to administration fees etc, 100% of money I could raise will be given directly to those who need it? Basically I'm trying to drum up intrest, I hope nick is ok with this? And he would be first to see what is needed to know it is legit an above board

And pls no negative comments, be constructive and help me on my path but don't shoot me down, the world doesnt seem to take kindly to ppl who "try" and do good and it took a lot of courage for me to post this, anyone who would like to be involved is more than welcome, I have many diff ideas apart Dom just donation, like a YouTube Channel where when a target is reached I will do something (funny/painful,or such) in return so it becomes fun ad not just putting hand in pocket

It is a nice idea, I'd love to help. But how do you expect people to transfer funds? Some people dislike using paypal. Also, how can we trust you over any other random charity?

I've known ppl do runs and stuff like that, you can set up a web page, a company does it, a legit one and you can donate via paypal and card payment... I'll have to look it up, if you like?

Yeah this is the route most probably easiest, as the more I read about becoming a registered charity myself seems like a long process ,and to awnser zaz ,I wouldn't expect anyone to sponsor or donate until everything is in place, as I said I wouldn't just hand out my money like that, the details are still being worked on, but the principle of awareness and if ppl wud sponsor me and others who will be involved to do silly things ,along them lines, like jackass type thing but to raise money and awareness for charity.....I've known ppl do runs and stuff like that, you can set up a web page, a company does it, a legit one and you can donate via paypal and card payment... I'll have to look it up, if you like?

Yes please kriss, any help is just what looking for, and the easiest way to become legit and registered, as my desire to do this is immense, I know people would def donate to charity especially if they getting someform of entertainment value from it, as I said people approaching an asking for money will make the kindest person feel offended in a way, the thing that inspired me was there a guy who sells shoes an every pair he sells he gives a pAir to people who need, and he said when people are doing something that helps others and they also get something out of it ,it makes it a more pleasurable experience! And hence the idea just came to me,have been wanting to do charity work for a while now,

Charity work can be tough. It's a real commitment. I started with a little community work and ended up starting a not-for-profit organization with some friends in my town that has active projects in town and in other countries. What you do depends on what you are able to commit. And there can be a ton of legal issues attached. Take your time to find out not just what's available to you as an option but also to find something that is a good and meaningful fit for you as a person. The process of establishing an organization (I'm in the states) appears easy but there are tax issues that will keep you hopping. Talk to someone who has done this successfully before diving in.
