To my fellow English men&women enjoy your day even though there is no national holiday, no celebrated traditions and you can be branded a racist for flying the flag in his name.

St George. What a great chap. Also the patron saint of Portugal and Palestine. Chosen as our patron saint by Richard the Lionheart during the crusades. Defo a great day for a BBQ.

It does seem like were being forced under the 'british' label. I heard that people had complained ages ago when radio 1 did the fly an england flag on st georges day campaign because it offended multicultural Britain...

Thanks ska for the reply and Cas for the pm! Thats pretty shit you have a national day and can't fly your flag. That reason sound ludicrous, can't Scotland wales and the North not just fly there own flag as well.. I don't know, maybe I'm just ignorant because I'm not a part of the UK.

Don't get me wrong though, there is no law stopping people from flying the England flag, but it certainly feels like a borderline anti-social thing to do. That's my opinion. Also worth remembering that a lot of our national pride is focused on the Royal family where as the USA focus theirs on the flag?

The US and UK are currently up their arses/asses with PC and not offending other cultures. I am currently living in a predominantly Moslem country (Malaysia) which celebrates all cultures. You should have seen the Christmas decorations in the malls here - spectacular - and the grocery stores are currently full of hot cross buns and Easter eggs. In my opinion, that is the way to go - include all cultures, not rejection.
