I have started a server on it, but I don't know how to protect buildings and things so I can't make it public. Tell me if you can help and I'll pm you the ip. Thanks ;)

Add plugins, I'll ask an OP of my server where to get them soon.

Bukkit and download a shitload of plugins for it, go!

Oh my if you are a minecraft server noob I suggest going To bukkit ask around for help and mess around before you make anything public.
