Your local Chinese embassies are accepting tourist visa app. No bribery/corruption but gifts in kind that are of high end & luxury status are most welcomed.

As for Japan, you have to negotiate rates with Kawasaki or Yamaha thru Osaka only (and rumor has it that the yakuza will be calling the shots)
