As a new player, who's now starting to understand game (debatably), could I sell everything, weapons etc, then find a local weak early non-active player. Then with no weapons equipped I purposely lose all my money to them. Quickly restart and within a few hours seek that same inactive but now rich player and attack ?

It's possible. But there's really no point. Money IS hard at first, but give it time. Just plant turfs in crowded areas, buy weapons with no upkeep, and you'll be good.

It wouldn't work well because there's a pretty low cap on fight rewards. I honestly don't see the point. You aren't given much starting cash anyways.
