If you want to know more check out drum an bass on wiki and search subgenresDrumstep is still very new.
"Penamana" by Original Sin and Taxman is a recent example but there's no real out and out producers for it yet. A lot of producers seem to be dabbling at the moment.

I'm getting kinda sick of the flood of new genre titles. Change one style ever so slightly and call it something new so people might pay attention, or so you can claim your doing something new. It's all just barrowed and recycled sounds and ideas. I play a variety of instruments and use an arsenal of modules and programs, but everything I do is influenced by someones work in some way. If I put some distorted lead guitar over hip-hop, it's still fucking hip-hop. Just sayin...
Also, been drinkin Jameson again.

This reminds me of my favorite line from one of my favorite movies, Girl. Tara Reid asks her kinda geeky friend about his new band & what kind of music they play. He replies that they play rock music.I'm getting kinda sick of the flood of new genre titles. "Yeah, but, grunge rock, or post-grunge rock? Neo-punk, or oral pop? Oral-pop-grunge or post-pop-oral? Pre-grunge or psyche-post-pop oral grunge, or good time butt-rock? Please not good time butt-rock, I'm so sick of that shit..."

Prefer dubstep personally!

Drumstep will (hopefully) fade away like so many other break away genres as the backing is very limited. It's too close to dubstep and JDB to have a real impact.
If it becomes as supported as when dubstep emerged from JDB and grime fractured from UKG then it may stick around.
For the time being I'm sticking with my roots firmly in Jungle, DNB, Grime and Dubstep!
Current recomendations;
DJ Fresh - Mission to Mars
kozzie - Spartan
Flux Pavilion - Base Cannon
