Islands would definatly work for the initial outbreak. You know how deep the ocean is? Deep. They'd be wondering around trenches forever. And on the off chance one actually managed to make it to an offshore island...well it just be one...better then not on an island where they don't have to have to travel thousands of miles in just the right direction. If they didn't find "just the right direction" they'd wonder forever. You're this close to getting kicked off the team docta. And we really need a doctor.

I'm an eagle scout, pretty decent when it comes to shooting, knots and first aid. Need glasses and not the strongest guy, but I do cardio, limber up and am leery of bathrooms! and I live in OK so if it's a fast and vast outbreak, I'll have a head start to stockpiling before it gets here. Unless the outbreak starts with those crazy rednecks in Arkansas...

Pirates would roam the seas. Islands would suck unless you find a cave and fortify it. That would probably work.

Got shotguns and access to a barn with one access point on the highest point for miles. Rural location means less people, and the open area means I have a good vantage point to prepare for any oncoming zombies. There's alot of fertile land to cultivate for food and alot of different berry plants and hives of honey bees. Recon I could fair better than most. Only problem is I'd have to live with my dad...
