Are you sure it's not metal? It's very heavily riff based, and the only major difference between them and Metallica is their sound because their playing styles aren't that far off if you really think about it. But yeah I thought A Perfect Circle was Maynard's solo project that he worked on during the time between Tool albums.^ maynard, no longer part of tool, there are no more new albums. Maynard started another band called a perfect circle. No more new tool.
But ya, tool isnt metal, im with you on that. Still a great band, just not metal. -

Tool technicly has two genres progressive rock, or art metal, some of their songs could be considerd metal yes, but as a whole the band is generaly considerd progressive rock.☠metal militia☠ wrote:

Ummm yes maynard is still part of tool. Perfect circle has been a side project of his through the past 3 tool albums. In fact he's not in the new perfect circle album. Maynard never left tool. They just take long breaks and I'd rather it that way^ maynard, no longer part of tool, there are no more new albums. Maynard started another band called a perfect circle. No more new tool.

Yup I listen to them...some of my favorite song titles of all time are curl up and die song titles. Such as "kissing you is like licking an ashtray" "you'd be cuter if I shot you in the far" and the epic "dr doom a man of science doesn't believe in Jesus, why the fuck do you?"Anyone heard of:

Lol dumb statement. You may not like it but I'd like to see you shred a guitar like some of these metal guitarists. I love people who say shit like this. Then making them listen to the orchestra version of metal tunes. Go listen to Justin beiber kid.Metal is bad. Sorry.

Metal...thanx for this thread. I like TOOL, I bought the 10,000 days album but, didn't know they broke up and I didn't know about PERFECT CIRCLE either so, I checked out the new band on youTUBE. Good stuff. 👍
-
Re-reading the thread...I'm not sure if they broke up or not and CIRCLE isn't new, just new to me. I'm just glad to be introduced to more good music.
-
Tool did not break up. They're doing some festivals (with Maynard) this summer. Second best band I've seen live. They take long breaks between albums because their fans want the same old angry-ish tunes, but to paraphrase Maynard; it's hard to make an honest album full of screaming and anger when you're not angry anymore. I respect that. I'd rather them take their time and release something they're proud of then rush it just to sell albums. If you liked 10,000 days I suggest starting earlier at eanima then go back to undertow and opiate...

Really... And this thread is for people who like metal dipshit, and the lyrics are more intelligble then one word repeated over and over by some whiney prick or some fuck up with dreds talking about what he smoked, or what chic he fucked. Truely metal is the better genre.wwleaf wrote:

Also murder face from dethlok is an amazing guitarist, also, even though its not exactly metal, paul gilberts version of bachs partita in D minor -
