I think my mob number is low for my level, so I've been doing smaller missions and mobbing up more. But I have seen level 80s on up that have less than 2000 mob. Is there a rule of thumb for how big a
Mob should be according to your level?

Not really. The only thing level shows is approx. how long you've been playing. If you're a level 80+ and still have 1.5k mob I won't feel bad about capping any loot turf in reach..

Well the reason I ask is because other people, that I greatly respect, are telling me that if I keep leveling up faster than my mob, more people will attack me

What I find odd is that I come across people who have mob under one thousand, yet they will have tens of thousands of artillary. Wouldn't all those weapons, and their upkeep, be wasted if you have so few mob?

Yes. Those people don't understand how the game works or where to mob up.

Well I am trying to one day run with the best. But I have learned lots and have a long way to go! I just wanted to make sure I didnt come off as lazy.

No but if u keeping making/capping turf and not mobbing up alot then you will get attacked alot bcuz ur influence is to high and stronger more experienced players will attack u. They can't take your turf until u get to their 10%

Just get as many mob as you can. Enough is never enough in this game.
