My wife liked it because it had a down syndrome girl in it, only saw her in one episode so it's been banned along with big brother and any program with STRICTLY in the title.

That is no high school I have ever seen. Everyone is pretty and they have deliberately placed token characters with token issues.I won't miss an episode! That being said, I was in chamber choir in high school and played a part in every spring musical and fall play. It's entertaining and I think does a fair job at portraying the lives of teenagers. I am curious......for those who hate the show.....why exactly??
Tokens include: stupid republicans, gay gay gay, handi-capables, global warming, blah, blah, PC, blah.
The productions are all hollywood. It's completely unrealistic, and I can't stand pop dance theatre.
The entire concept represents everything I hate.

Yeah... It's like it's intended for graduates of the "Fresh Beat Band". Wretch..Natedogg 👊🔨💀 wrote:
The acting looked horrible, the singing (in the commercial) wasn't good, and they were all ecstatically happy, in a very fake kind of way. In the ads it seemed like it would only appeal to kids about 10 & younger.I won't miss an episode! I'm suprised everyone in that show isn't wearing an awareness sash for their ribbon collections.
Remember how Casey Kasem used to have to come up with a monologue about the theme of pop songs on his weekly list? Like the old guy really gives a crap about "a touching song about losing your girlfriend, and finding out you can make it on your own... Here's blahblah"
Let's do like that! We will pick a song that everybody likes, do a big dance number, and fill in a plot to make the lyrics significant. Cha-Ching!

It's entertaining.....that's all. The acting isn't great but the singing is really good even if it is cheesy. The characters grow on you after awhile.

It does appeal to that age group, but some of the subject matter is inappropriate for them...which is why we don't watch it around here, really. I have previewed some episodes that are ok and they've seen them. Others...um...nope.Natedogg 👊🔨💀 wrote:

As a singer/musician the concept appeals to me, but I have never really gotten into the drama side of the show. And I lack DVR!!! So getting to the musical portion is sometimes rather excruciating if I'm trying to preview a full episode. I gotta agree with Brown. Too trite, canned, and pretty...which sells, but isn't realistic. I try not to think, but it happens anyway.

So instead of capping, if you have a problem with someone, you have to sing & dance about it, then post it on utube?Let's do like that! We will pick a song that everybody likes, do a big dance number, and fill in a plot to make the lyrics significant. Cha-Ching!

My mrs is allowed to watch it when I'm out playing or watching football, thems the rules 👊I'd like to know if any men here are strong enough to admit that they watch and enjoy Glee.
Personally, as bad as TV shows in general are, Glee makes me want to wretch. My wife thinks it's the most awesome show since Dancing with the Stars...
Bill the Cat says: ACK!! GAK!!

So the opposite of Glee is Skins. I watched the first episode of that & it was like a train wreck. (It was terrible but I had to see how it ended.) They portrayed every adult as being a complete & utter idiot, to the ridiculous. Other than that, it was just downright depressing. I don't just mean in their teen portrayal either. That's one I never want to see again!

That's exactly the world of Glee.... They get even with a three-snaps dance routine; and that bitch teacher of theirs in the audience smirking over her shoulder at you as if to say: "Burn! These lyrics are about YOU!"Brown Note👊🔨💀 wrote:

This is not the case at all. I don't think I'd let a kid under 10 watch it far to many sexual references.

The downs girl is in nearly every episode

I hate it and so does my man. Not really into any shows like that, and I hate Desperate Housewives and Sex n the city too lol

Wouldn't it be cool if they could somehow work in the climax of Inglourious Basterds for one of their shows?
Row after row of cheering fascist popular kids, locked in a burning auditorium, peppered with machine gun fire...
To win the war, we need all four: Sue Sylvester, Will Schuester. Rachel Berry, and Finn Hudson.
What? Too Columbine?

I find even the commercials for Glee repulsive.
