3/13 most of the US will Spring forward an hour.
01:59 then 3:00am. No 2 o'clock hour!
Do other countries do this or just the US??? -
Daylight saving?
-
Think that's what uk calls it,
-
Some countries do, most Muslim ones do not.
-
Uk does, last Sunday in March. Although there is a campaign to get it changed.
-
Losing sleep sucks. I also think Arizona ignores daylight savings.

Every day. The theory is that the old people will then age quicker and die which should sort out the state pension problem.... Our government isn't to bright you see

Is this true? How would it work if some countries did and some didn't? So at any diff time of year another country that doesn't change it Would be + 4 hrs and +5 hrs at diff times of year? Some countries do, most Muslim ones do not.

Yep, mighty confusing!!! And AZ is broken up as to areas that change and those that don't. Tribal Reservations are Federal. Can't remember which changes."The Man" wrote:

It's ridiculous as even countries that do change do so at different times!! -

India don't switch time either. What is it actually based on?
-
Thats mad, u did not know that? So basically reservations the Indian people don't acknowledge the time change? Learn something new everyday
-
It's a concept brought in during World War 2 to give farmers and other workers more daylight time. It's a load of outdated crap that just serves to annoy these days. Seriously, who gives a shit???
I'm sure the UK government will devise a way of taxing it soon.

Yeah. GMT is -5 hours and GMT+1 is -4. We have different states but the whole country runs on 1 time. We also have 3 seasons not 4. Winter, summer and monsoon.Thats mad, u did not know that? So basically reservations the Indian people don't acknowledge the time change? Learn something new everyday

I meant WW1- to save fuel as well as farmers help, etc. Still a load of bollocks.

it's weird when you meet people who vaguely remember before daylight savings happened. I think it makes sense to keep on rhythm with the earth's clock but I always prefer the one when you get the extra hour of sleep.

My preference as well. My irrational preference is to keep "falling back" which I actually do quite well on my own and then some scheduled something-or-other comes along and I have to get up at some ungodly hour like any time before noon.it's weird when you meet people who vaguely remember before daylight savings happened. It's true, to keep it all on track we use GMT as well as that never changes. The military use it also but call it Zulu time, so everytime a time is used it has both local and GMT/Zulu time so everyone knows exactly when it happened. We're always GMT +5, the East Coast alternates between GMT -4 and GMT -5, depending on the time of year.

Countries that are near the equator do not need to change the clock because dawn and dusk occur at the same time throughout the year. Yes, there is a different time difference when the northern and southern climes adjust their time. Its a location thing rather than a religious thing."The Man" wrote:

Where does the hour go? Who gets to take it? I should go crash at their place. 💤
-
I planted a turf at 1:59 and one at 3:00.
-
Don't get me wrong I like longer lighter evenings but it sucks plums driving to work in the pitch black. Anyone in the Uk have an opinion on the two hour change?

Also now it's pushed by Big Businesses! At least here in the US. They want it lighter later so that people will go out after work and spend money. They found out people are more prone to go out if it's light out. By having the sunlight last later helps $$tills.
