Only in the US because it's all factory farmed and tainted. In Asia they don't even keep their eggs in the fridge and their cooked food they sell at unrefrigerated stalls they wrap in banana leaf to keep safethe japanese are a strange and confusing culinary people. at no point does raw chicken seem appealing at all. even if I killed it myself and the flesh was warm from it's still beating heart. seems like a faceful of salmonella.

First odd thing I ever ate was haggis, when I was a kid. Then got older and started eating tons of sushi. All kinds of raw sea creatures.
I had a drink in Peru where they tosses a frog, a bird egg and a bunch of other stuff into a blender and then gave it to us. Was good. After that ate piranha in the amazon it was really good. And a massive frog for breakfast that our guide found and killed during a midnight hike ithe jungle without flashlight. Was awesome! -
I would say this is odd but really good, civiche. Fresh caught fish and octopus from the ocean then cut up and served in lime juice and some hot peppers. That was delicious. We were surfing while a buddy we met fished under us with a spear. Then went right on the beach and ate. So good!

I know Americans do terrible things with factory farming. but there's no such thing as a heritage chicken. chickens as a whole are a product of human engineering.
