oh split peas. you come in different colors. including yellow like me. meow, the golden gato.

split pea soup is underrated. even amongst the bean soups which all traditionally get a little help from pork products. canned and powdered split pea is quite tolerable.

when was the last time you had some delicious and nutritious split pea? I like it in a pub with a pint. right now I'll settle for breakfast with a handful of cheez-its.

I hate making split pea. the peas settle to the bottom and I'm usually impatient or riding the heat too high and end up scorching it.

I like split pea other people make better. like your gran. I would love a bowl of her soup. I could also really go for a ham and butter sandwich.

What's that Heinz chilli sauce in the brisket thing like? I need a substitute.

The recipe I use (grans), uses a pressure cooker. I pressure cook a gammon or something else like a shoulder. Remove to use as meat for the week. Then add split peas carrots and onion to the cooking water. And cook on high pressure for 15/20 mins. A good stir and it's done.

I'm pretty sure you can get Heinz chili sauce in England. I saw some sites and stuff online when I googled heinz chili sauce uk.
it's kind of like mild chili and garlic fortified ketchup. you could probably get something similar if you mixed 2 parts ketchup with 1 part brown sauce and 1 part Thai chili sauce? or a splash of worchestershite for brown sauce.

I eat soup for breakfast. when I can. leftover soup, miso soup, chunky beef and vegetable, shin ramyun, lentil soup, condensed chicken noodle, beef and barley, chickerina, etc. sometimes I get to have pho and those days are awesome.

I'm sick with the flu, so ive been on a soup diet, I love split pea soup, but u gots ta blend it up......I hate whole vegetables, peas and the like.

I'm looking for a good corn soup this evening

We have soup everyday on boat in the navy...split pea comes out quite regularly....when done right its great...when done poorly it's slop.
