...we had to walk 5 miles to school, uphill both ways, in the snow & barefoot.
This is another thread for the old-timers. Turf Wars has come along way since its humble beginnings (thanks nick, beauty, & co.).
What can you recall from the "olden days" when you had to keep track of your turf limit by making tally marks on the cave walls with a stick?
I remember when a turf was born as a pin, when there were no forums or private messages. I remember when there were only 10 names on each leaderboard and 10 or 20 on the fight list. I remember when thuglife had followers, grounghog and \\//'s V in the Atlantic Ocean. I remember Vito Corleone & the first attempted (& failed) alliance, Cosa Nostra.
-
I remember the bitter bickering turned awkward flirting between Prez iLL & Patsy Killine & then the first time most of us learned who JMac was & thought he sounded like a nice guy. I remember when I'd mark my threads by putting a pink bow in the title, my first conversations with El! & Aggressive & my 3 invitations to CMS. I know gasface's code by heart (clews825) & I remember Bob the Binman & Murphy the cat.

"I am going to drop a pin"
" wow you are up to 1million an hour"
"I got 5 new players in my mob today"
"20 miles to hop is a long way" -
I remember if a player was already in your mob the code didn't disappear. You had to backspace before you could punch the next code
-
Amd fantastic thread idea Bella.

I remember before vendettas. I you were bullied by a Steiger player you either had to beg for direct help or you were just out of luck
-
I remember when the I attack rewards rule was only 4. You'd only get cash amd xp for 4 attacks. I also remember when there was no limit to the rewards.
-
I remember my sheeping days.

I remember (fondly) when my mob was bigger than belial's.

I remember before in app purchases you had to buy app point packs you could only get once. Spending was very limited
-
I remember when the top inf mobsters had only 200 turf

I remember way back when Tek cautioned me to respect the historical significance of New York turf.
The game was 6 months old!
Even now we talk rather loosely about old timers from a year ago.
Does anyone else feel like time drags in this game? It feels like 10 years, not one.
But anyway, I've got lightbulbs that have been burning longer than this game. Quit acting like it's as old as the dawn of the new world. 😄

Before there was a twdb code site there was this thread in the invite forum - CCDB 2010.4.3 3,609
Bella used to give me daily beatings
BellaItaliana says: Anyway, good luck! Expect your daily beating! ;)

I remember when lapis had crappy defense and were only good for missions. We had no tomes either. The vest combo was RPGs and minis.

It's just a fun thread Showing how mich the game has changed. Also time in TW moves much faster than the real world. In comparison id say at least 10 years have passed. If not 20I remember way back when Tek cautioned me to respect the historical significance of New York turf.

I remember when my prodigy member ID to login was KVVJ80C

At one point you couldn't delete forum posts. If you posted something embarassing you'd have to beg nick to take care of it
-
Name changes used to be free. You'd just message feedback with the name you wanted. That was the only way to change the name back then
