My mom set a restriction on my iPod so it won't allow me to put explicit songs on my iPod. So I have to buy the clean shit and it is boring not swearing. Who thinks this is shit.

You could just reset it through the computer and it will go away, then put all the stuff back on(not the restrictions)

It can be. Anger amd extreme emotions are very much a part of art.Cursing isnt art

What i get from his post suggest the only part of the music he likes is the cursing.... If I was his mom I'd very concerned. How old is he anyway?

Lol if your too immature/young to figure out how to remove the ban maybe you are too young/immature for curse words?

Curse words are a part of the English language. I'll never understand censoring
-
To give you an example of curse words being part of art. Take the song hurt. The nin version has a line "I wear this crown of shit." the Johnny cash version says "I wear this crown of thorns" this one line changes the meaning of the entire song lessening it's value

your mom is tipper gore.

It's stupid. Your mom has a problem

I remember my mom having a bit of an issue when I was listening to Alice in Chains Down In a Hole. with the line "oh I want to be inside of you." having only experienced someone inside me in the spiritual sense, I couldn't understand her agitation. she also wasn't particularly happy with RHCP's Sir Psycho Sexy either. nor were my teachers when I did a sign language interpretation to that as a school project. They started to make moves to stop me around the "like a ram getting ready to jam the lamb," part.

When you grow up, you'll understand.

As for censoring, the line "I fucked yo bitch nigga" doesn't need to be heard by people of all ages. It's just not appropriate. -
A parent has every right in the world to choose what their kids should be listening. Adult films could be considered art and I wouldn't want my 14 year old daughter watching them.

oh zraygo. it must be really hard to be a father of a teenage girl.
I know I'm a degenerate but most of my friends and I were wanking to porn and being fed cum like it's punishment by the time we were 14. the innocent ones were the dirtiest. the girls on the honor roll and their field hockey and class participation. steal me their parents weed and theyd fake inhale my cigarettes while I finger banged them outside school.
lock up your daughters or at least be the open dad they can come to when they are fucking because you won't know who's ass to kick if they don't want you to know. -
👍 thumbs up on the nails reference b. But I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume this kid isn't listening to the poetic usage of shit by Trent reznor, but is more into mainstream garbage swearing "cause it's cool". I agree music shouldn't b censored but it depends on the style. If he's listening to hardcore gangsta rap in which they can just drop profanities and have no real artistic value, maybe his mothers trying to protect him from that...either way its funny your mommy won't let you listen to what you want. I remember way back in the land before iTunes and I bought my "portrait of an American family" cd guy almost didn't sell it to me because I wasn't 18...there's an idea kid go buy the album if you really wanna hear it. Sales so low of actual CDs I'm sure they'd sell it to you.
