Anyone else seeing this offer? If not then here ya go 😄 but if u read the small text in the commercials it says something about a required payment of $39.99.......fucking AT&T you dam rip off artist. That's why we went back to cox 😼 lol anyways any thoughts on this?I'm still tempted to get one tho
would help with tws alot 😜 (at least for my trip to Washington it will) 😏 -
Still requiring absurd 2 year contracts...legalized extortion, industry standard or not...
-
They had to do something thanks to Verizon.
-
What's wrong with a 2 yr contract? I've had a cell phone since 1989 and guess what, I had to pay for service all these yrs with or without a contract so if ya want the phone and can't afford to pay for it out right, you sign a service contract. Or save your money, buy the phone outright and still pay the same price for the service.
-
They also don't tell you about the $100.00 phone bill❕
-
I saw the deal too. In small print: required 2-year ripoff contract or 2-year make AT&T rich plan. Your choice
-
$50 for a soon to be 2 generation old phone with 2 year contract (by the time you can upgrade you'll be 4 generations behind).
What's really stupid is that the retail cost for the 3GS is still $499 (8 gb only model too).

Really cause I got 1000 minutes, unlimited data and text, with my girl on my planl. And I pay around 50 dollars. Also not to mention my 2000+ rollerovwr minutes. They also don't tell you about the $100.00 phone bill❕

And of course there would be a contract. You'd be dumb enough to think you can get it at a cheap price with out being chained to something. That would just make their iPods useless.

They killed it for me when they said it was just the 8 gig. I put too much music on a phone just for that crap.

You've had your plan a while now then.. My bill is $300 monthly (after my corporate discount) 2100 minutes 4 lines unlimited data on 2 (iPhones a 3GS and iPhone4) an android (aria "it sucks") and windows phone. But AT&T no longer offers unlimited data unless you had it previously. My iPhone alone with early nights and weekends, family text unl., and data is over 100... Just data on one AT&T phone is $30 monthly not to mention 2, also when your contract is up, price changes can take affect...
-
So your data plans only leave you $40 room family text is $24, leaving you $16... Sorry you need to look at your statement again. Also my EVO through sprint is $169/mo unlimited everything. So I'm not saying AT&T is expensive, just not as cheap as u think.

Two year contracts suck. 1 year should become the industry standard as that is about the average amount of time it takes for a phone to become obsolete. That is one reason I just went with a cheap android. Cost me 300 no contract. Nice because I can upgrade any time I want but I'll only go 1 year contracts from here in out.
-
And I could care less about being chained to the cell company but I don't like being chained to a device.
-
What about your itouch 😏

Right....I heard Verizon doesn't want $$$ as payment anymore they will take jelly beans (magic or otherwise) Cell providers don't manufacture phones they provide service. When you see a cheap phone with a contract it's because they subsidise the cost of the phone in exchange for a guaranteed service term. Don't want a contract pay full price!I saw the deal too. In small print: required 2-year ripoff contract or 2-year make AT&T rich plan. Your choice

You're right I've had my plan for almost a decade now. I also have connection ;)
-
The reason they require two year contracts is because they are subsidizing the cost of the phone. They want to know you will be around long enough for them to get their money back.
You don't have to sign a contract. You can just buy the phone at full retail price. There is no extortion going on.
I've been wit AT&T for ten years now, abscond plan ongoing anywhere anytime soon so I'll sign a contract for that fat discount. No problem.
You're going to pay the same for the service either way, so you may as well get something out of the deal
