Build costs

Mine is up to 35m in dense cities. Any other horror stories?
-
I can't remember the last time I could build.
-
Location, location, location.
-
What makes the cost rise beside location? Does your existing number of turf or your mob size alters it?

I had a few go over 50 mil each over in MD.

It's a function of the number of turf nearby, and the number of different turf owners near by. Turf in an open area is around 200K. It doesn't change based on the players level or number of turf or influence.

And obviously brown the noobs that drop pins in these big cities do not pay 35m for that location

Costs have been extremely consistent for me. I have gone down to 1 influence several times, and have seen the same rates since I started playing. Perhaps the game takes into consideration former turf, at least for a period of time. What kind of differences do you see?

A level 4 and I just tried to place in the same spot. His cost was 211k. My cost was 11m. There are only 2 players besides myself in that area.

I was paying those prices in NY back when I was leveled in the 60 range.

I'm going to try to run tests with chainsaw and a few other players still under limit. See if we can crack the formula.

It does. Someone with half my turf will pay less to build in the same area I build.

I think it's a 3 part equation. Density. Variety of players and influence/turf count of builder.
-
A couple times I have planted turf in an open area. Initially the cost was cheap. However, after I had a few turf there the cost rose, despite no players nearby. I'm not sure of the length of time between plants (some longer than others) or the difference in my turf limit. I just know I thought it odd. However, I can go to a new open area now, & plant for much cheaper than I can in the others, despite my turf limit being at it's highest.
-
It may be a turf limit function. I've been around 1800 for a long time.
-
I always thought it was turf density.

It's definately not turf count or influence. Like I say, I have been from one turf to 2200 and back to one a few times now. Prices never changed for me from Orlando to Connecticut.I think it's a 3 part equation. Density. Variety of players and influence/turf count of builder.

I just tested one area. It cost me 8.8m. Another player tried to place in the same spot. He has under 50 turf. It cost him $630k
-
Only 4 players in the area. About 40 turf in the cluster.
-
What is his limit?
-
If I have only 1 turf over the white house, my second turf next to it is 21 million. Total influence: 168.
-
I believe brown is right it's limit not total # of turfs. Along with the other factors already discussed that effect what you pay.
