Our high for today is -3. They couldn't start the buses so there was no school. It's supposed to be a low of 22 tonight & 19 tomorrow - that is cold for Houston! Apparently there is also a chance of snow on Friday! That's exciting for us. It rarely sticks so I usually go outside & stand in the falling flakes, since it's a novelty here. I try to take lots of pictures too.

Just heard -50F in Montana. I'm stuck in New Mexico headed to Chicago. This day and a half trip will likely turn into a week trip. Not looking forward to Missouri

Ice age!
Quick, everyone out and start your cars and rev the engines, we need to warm up the planet! (joking)
Winter is upon us. There was a possibility of snow in London over the weekend, but that didn't materialize. It could happen today though ... Which will bring the city to a standstill (again)..... Brrrrrrrrrr

22 degrees in my part of TX. Failed to get on the task of shoring up the heater in the new place. Space heater can only do so much. I can almost not type. Brrrr.

Nice and warm here in New Zealand. But spare a thought for those in Queensland Australia - see Katrina thread - about to face a hurricane of biblical proportions - 180mph winds and storm surge 20 feet above high tide mark expected...
-
It's ☀ and 42 degrees celcius.... I guess that's 120 degrees farnenheit....
-
On Long Island...
The world is my ice sculpture today. Nice sheet of ice and it's still raining.

It's currently 22 degrees F here, but apparently with the wind chill it feels like 8 degrees. Our heater isn't working so all I have is a space heater (and a few cats). I'd like some special iPhone gloves to keep my hands warm. They could just have the tip of the index finger open for me; ideally though, they would make some that would work without having that finger exposed. If I had an extra pair, I'd make my own by cutting the tip off, but I'm not cutting up my one good set of gloves.

Oklahoma declared a state of Emergency because of our snow...15+ inches of snow around the Tulsa area. I know that doesn't sound like a lot to some, but that is a record for the most snow to fall in a 24 hour period here. Finally made it into work today after two days out.

We now have a 70% chance of snow & sleet predicted for tonight & tomorrow until noon. They are predicting between 1-3 inches! That's major for us. We had a couple inches back around 1987, I think. Then around 1989 we had a major icing of all the roads. I'm excited, as long as the power doesn't go out, which they keep saying is a possibility. Yikes!! I wish I had some wood to make a fire - it would be the perfect time!!

Mystery, I didn't watch the video yet but I have tried to "slide to answer" with my nose. It's not easy at all!! I don't even think I answered the phone in time either 🙍.
Some times there just isn't enough time to take the gloves off.

Got 1/10 in. Of ice 2 days in a row and today it all melted.

With tall skinny pine trees freezing and falling all over the place...you'd be amazed. In 1993 we had an ice storm in Houston and lost power for several days due to fallen trees mostly. It was downright stupid.Mystery wrote:

New jersey has been horrible with the snow. Then there's the ice that freezes over every night.

The snow continues. Another 3-5 inches today on top of the 14+ that's still on the ground. Plus more starting on Sunday
